The ideal nursery theme ~ By Mini Swami
A mixture of bright and bland can do wonders to any room. Highlight the
important features of the nursery like the wall, ceiling and the cushions
and linens and adorn them using a bright color scheme and paint the
furniture using white or light shades. The contrast can be stunning and you
will feel wonderful to just sit in the room. It really enlivens you and your
spirits.
Get as creative as you want. Use stripes, stencils and story book themes to transform the walls and room into a fairy story, but remember, too much of it can make you feel sick. With so many themes available one can get as imaginative as one wants, but the golden rule is the baby will not be a baby for very long.
Remember color is the catalyst that triggers emotions. If you want to feel
good and relaxed, go in for neutrals or soft pastels, but if you want to
feel vibrant use bright colors and graphics. You can lend an air of
sophistication by using beautiful fabrics on beds, cribs and window seats.
Rich curtains can add to the aura. Sponge painting, rag rolling and
stenciling adds design and novelty. However, some primary colors are a must.
Red, yellow and blue are tried and tested colors that have contributed
greatly to the cognitive development of babies. So use colors and themes
judiciously.
