Cotton is man’s best material. Known for its quality it is widely used
in different types of garments. So undoubtedly you will find its
presence in shawls too. Cotton shawls do not protect one from the fierce
cold weather. It will keep you warm alright but it is certainly not the
right shield against the cold weather. Hence these shawls are used to complement a garment. Elderly Indian women are often seen taking a cotton shawl on their sari or salwar khameez. It is either of a self-colour or with some mild embroidery. Men too wear these shawls. They take it around their shoulders if they are wearing a kurta pyjama or even on a summer suit. Cotton shawls are even cut to fit into a stole. They are the ‘in’ things these days. Jut put it around your neck or let it loose from your collar or create a style of your own. Colours are available in plenty for these stoles but matching stoles to the dress is equally important. Printed styles are best worn with self-coloured and printed materials. This fashion has even been extended to the men’s fashion domain. They too are seen flaunting the cotton shawls on their Indian suits. ~Category authored Karishma Bajaj.
