While almost every school student is made to wear canvas
shoes, this accessory is not just limited to them. Today, the variety of
shoes available made from this material has made it popular amongst
people of all ages, male and female. These shoes were mainly made from
white canvas as a uniform for students to bring about a balance. This
means that when wearing a uniform there is no disparity amongst students
with regards to the socio-economic background from where they hail. Apart from students, sportspersons and serious walkers and health enthusiasts would purchase canvas shoes as part of their shoe closet. The reason why shoes made from this material has been a preference is because it provides for flexible movement of the feet, as well as it allows the feet to breathe since it is a porous material. The only problem being that since it is not waterproof, during the monsoons it can cause a stench if worn wet. Though a large variety of sportswear has come into the global markets, yet people purchase canvas shoes because of the comfort it provides. The new synthetic material shoes are made in varied styles and are heavier than the shoes made from canvas. Apart from that the sole is slightly elevated. The flatter older alternative of the laced canvas shoe does not cause any damage to the back, which could be the case with elevated shoe patterns. Shoes of canvas have also become a fashionable trend because of the variety of colors and styles. So from the plain white or off-white ones, we have red, blue, green, pink, etc., shoes.
